When times were already a bit of a struggle for some of us a global epidemic is not something we really needed, however it’s what we are all currently facing so lets grab it with both hands and ride through the storm together.
Be one step ahead;
1. Speak to your landlord, advise them of your situation ‘if’ a lock down were to happen. Will your landlord agree to a payment holiday or potentially a reduce in rent costs for a period of time?
2. Speak to your utility providers such as water, electric can they perhaps look at a different tariff for you or maybe offer a payment holiday?
3. Speak to HMRC to see if you can reduce your VAT payments
4. Speak to your suppliers (local rep) to discuss stock, deliveries and payments of invoices – do they have enough stock to meet demand? Are deliveries still being scheduled and kept? Are extra measures being put into place to reduce contamination.
5. Keep your clients up to date on a weekly basis, this can be by 2 easy methods when contacting a number of clients at one time by Email or SMS
6. Update your website home page outlining all the measures you have put into place in your salon throughout this period. Remember to keep your homepage looking and feeling great, instead of listing this on your home page create a headlong with a link to a blog post giving this information
7. Alter your confirmation email/sms – Take a look at the email confirmation below and see how you can tweak it slightly.
8. Communicate with your team on a daily basis – with the unknown making many anxious there is nothing worse than not knowing the plans for your employer should the health officials issue a ‘lock down’
9. Remember this will be for a certain period of time, it will not last forever.
10. And most importantly remember to be thankful for all that you do have
