Prep for the end of 2018 the best way you know how

End the year in your Salon Business with a BANG

Make the last 3 months of 2018 in your salon count…

So with the gorgeous summer almost behind us it’s time to plan and dig deep for the final quarter of 2018.

How are we nearly there already? I’m sure you’ll agree time is going too quickly

TIME…PLEASE SLOW DOWN

I must say it hasn’t been a bad summer for trading, the sun has certainly put the majority of us in the right mood to spend a little extra in the salon. Whether that be on hair services or indulging in a few extra beauty treatments for their summer holiday prep.

OK, so lets recap and take a look at our figures for both services and retail, focusing on 2017

October – November – December

Looking at these 3 particular months, ask yourself the following questions…

  • How did you do overall?
  • Did you smash the targets you had set the salon?
  • Do you still have all stylists and therapists working for you now that were working for you in December last year?
  • Are you holding any new retail brands in your salon?
  • Have you removed a retail brand from your salon this year due to poor sales?
  • Maybe you’ve expanded and now have an additional salon?

Spend some time to analyse where you were at last year to where you are at this year.

Once you have your figures in front of you for October, November and December 2017, it’s time to set yourself some goals for these exact months for 2018.

Where to start?

Take a look at any promotions you run throughout these months.

  • How did you market them?
  • Did you use a number of different marketing strategies?
  • What ones produced results for you and what didn’t?

It is key to look at these areas to stop you from repeating what didn’t work for you before. It doesn’t always mean that you have to completely change what you’re doing but maybe just tweak it very slightly to produce better results.

You will no doubt also surprise yourself with how much you have forgotten what you did last year for marketing to increase bookings and sales.

Once you have all this information fresh in your mind, you will be able to analyse this in better detail and make better decisions to achieve this years goals.

Two other areas that will help you and benefit your salon are;

  • Incentivise your team
  • Marketing Plan 2018

Both of these posts will be coming out very shortly to ensure you have all the tools at hand to make 2018 your best year yet.
