SalonIQ from Intelligent Salon Software is the latest generation of salon software from David Levine and Andrew Atherton. David and Andrew have been at the forefront of salon technology for the last 20 years. Originally they developed Computill their first generation salon software, then came i-salon, which grew to be the UK’s largest salon software product. Computill and i-salon client list was the who’s who of the UK salon industry, including 90% of 365 salons, Vidal Sassoon, Nicky Clarke, GREAT hairdressing, Headmasters, Harringtons, Zappas, Browns to mention just a few. In 2006 with over 2000 salon clients, Andrew and David sold their business to Integrity software and became investors in a salon group in Kent and Sussex (Great Hairdressing Group).
Seeing an opportunity in the market for automated salon email marketing in 2009 David introduced www.salonemailmarketing.com designed to help salons use their salon client database for automating emails like birthdays, lapsed clients, client surveys and appointment reminders, as well as promotional emails such as colour sales, mothers day etc.
However David and Andrew continually felt that the UK salon software had not kept pace with technology changes. Social media, facebook, online marketing was not around when i-salon, Shortcuts or other salon software was first developed, so it was felt these older systems were falling behind. David and Andrew also felt with their new insight into managing salons gained from their investment in Great Hairdressing Group, meant that they had gained an understanding of the salon business that no other software supplier would potentially have.
New technology was internet and cloud based, salon software needed to recognise this and move forward to offer new and exciting opportunities to salon owners. There was only one thing for it. Salon-iQ was born. A new breed of salon software, a system that really did give salons a return on their investment, that could and would track salon clients and could automatically take action to get them to return more frequently and spend more.
